The Accountancy Department Aims to:
- Produce professionally competent graduates equipped with Christian values and right attitudes through the integration of professional and ethical standards in all courses of the curriculum;
- Produce socially responsible and innovative graduates who will become the change agents of local, national and global communities in this rapidly changing world;
- Provide adequate training to students through intervention (Comprehensive Examinations, Accounting Review Course, Practicum and Experiential Learning) in preparing them for the Certified Public Accountant's Licensure examination, professional practice and entrepreneurship;
- Continuously update instructional programs to meet the demands of globalized certification in varied fields of specialization and informational technology;
Service other departments and colleges in the university by offering courses in identified areas of specialization; - Organize/conduct capacity building programs/activities for faculty to improve teaching competency and encourage them to pursue further postgraduate studies;
- Support the participation of faculty in seminars, workshops, symposia and other activities for continuing professional education and membership in professional associations such as PICPA, ACPAE, PACSB, FINEX and PAMA;
- Support the research agenda of the college through active participation in research projects and utilizing such research output in updating continuously the various instructional programs;
- Conduct seminars /workshops in the area of specialization and actively participate as facilitators, moderators and resource speakers;
- To provide opportunities for faculty members and students' involvement in community extension projects;
- Develop and maintain linkages with industry, alumni of the department and community;
- Support activities of student organizations complementing the accounting curriculum such as accounting quiz bowls, tax clinics, study circles, simulated examinations and leadership trainings for holistic education.
