Non-thesis option: 45 units (42 units of courses; 3 units for comprehensive exam graded pass/fail).
Thesis option: 54 units (42 units of courses; 3 units for comprehensive exam graded pass/fail; 9 units of research & thesis credits (MBA 2978, MBA 2988 and MBA 2998 spread out over at least 3 trimesters).
Students desiring a thesis option may enroll in that option at once OR after receiving the non-thesis MBA, may enroll in thesis units up to 5 years after they have completed the original MBA.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
2 years’ full time work experience after the bachelors’ degree. 
Bachelor’s degree (any subject) with at least a B- average (2.0)
However, those without a bachelor’s degree in business or commerce and those with a Bachelors degree in business and commerce but have a GPA of less than B – (2.0) are required to take 12 additional units of pre-requisite courses [MBA 200A Business Statistics, MBA 200B Accounting Principles, MBA 200C Macro-Micro Economics and MBA 200D Computer Applications in Business] making the MBA 57 units

Total length of time allowed to complete the MBA is 5 years. If a student does not finish within that time, he/she will receive a Certificate in Graduate Business Studies (see below) and be removed from the program. 

COMPREHENSIVE EXAMS: (3 units)
All students are required to take a comprehensive exam after completing their coursework. Those in the non-thesis option will, after successfully passing all parts of the comprehensive exam, receive their MBA.

Students who fail portions of the comprehensive exam will be required to retake the failed section(s). Students failing a second time will have to retake/re-enroll in the failed subject(s) and then take the comprehensive exam the next time it is offered. There will be a special fee charged for the retake exam(s). Failure thrice in a single section of the comprehensive exam will result in a Certificate in Graduate Business Studies and removal from the MBA program.

CERTIFICATE IN GRADUATE BUSINESS STUDIES
Students may choose to take four graduate courses in business without formal admission to the MBA program and receive a Certificate in Graduate Business Studies (CGBS).  Students may receive up to two (2) Certificates in GBS, but only 12 credits will be credited toward an MBA. MBA students will receive a CGBS if they fail the same section of the comprehensive exam three times.
